The Pettigrew Temporal Bone Holder is ideal for use with Pettigrew Temporal Bones. Click the photo to see an enlarged version.
The bone is held firmly in the operating position by use of a wooden wedge and an elastic cord (MasterLock BungiCord 25cm 3018DAT). The range of movement can be increased by removing the bone from the Holder, rotating the Holder 180 degrees horizontally and re-inserting the bone in its original orientation. The range of movement is similar to that of a patient's ear at surgery.
The Holder is made of simple materials and can be copied by anyone who wishes.
